Ellie Grant showed natural flare with her feeds into Claire Dickens & Sophie Gould, who despite the physicallity of Venus’s defence, once again rarely missed a shot. Knights continued their strong start to the season with a victory over Tomahawks, Paulton. With a slight change in the line-up, R.Dunford moved to GS and Vicky Taylor stepped in to play GK. V.Taylor linked well with V.Ferriday and E.Fenner in defence and they were able to force many turnovers enabling Kights to build a steady lead. J.Perry and A.Metcalfe dominated centre court and accurately fed shooters R.Dunford and L.Perry. With great shooting from the new combination Knights were able to extend their lead and finished with a score of 49 goals to 20. Player of the match was tied between Anna Metcalfe and Emily Fenner.

Knights kicked off the season with a good win over their opponents Gems, Bridgwater. Knowing they would be tough opposition Knights went out strong and managed to get an early lead. Vicki Ferriday, WD, Emily Fenner, GD, and Ruth Dunford, GK, made a tight defensive unit, putting pressure on the Gem’s attack, and as a result Knights were able to capitalise on mistakes made. With consistent feeds from Anna Metcalfe, WA, in to the circle successfully converted to goals by shooters Lauren Perry, GA and Becky Travers, GS, Knights were able to hold on to their lead and go on to win the game 44 goals to 32. Jade Perry, C, played a vital role linking between defence and attack, and as a result earned player of the match.
